About me

In February 2013 I was diagnosed with Keratoconus after noticing a significant change in my eye sight over a short period of time. Luckily the condition had been identified before it became aggressive and I was offered Collagen Cross Linking treatment (custom-made riboflavin drops saturate the cornea, which is then activated by ultraviolet light) which I had done in March 2013. Collagen Cross Linking is not a cure for Keratoconus but the aim of this treatment is to stop the progression of the condition.

The progression of Keratoconus can have a negative impact causing life changing experiences such as; Loss of driving license, job, hobbies, etc. Someone's life can be at a standstill until a new cornea is donated.

I'm very fortunate to have had Collagen Cross Linking treatment to prevent further deterioration however there are many other people in need of cornea transplants due to this terrible disease.

I've created this blog for those who would like to understand more about this condition, share my fundraising events and encourage you to sign up and become an eye donor.

Please take some time to look through my pages and do not hesitate to contact me.

I would be hugely grateful to anyone who becomes an eye donor.

Many thanks,

Amy Musto
